Friends, family, and community members are coming together this fall for the 1st Annual Bill Sturgis Charity Golf Tournament, set for Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Rebecca Creek Golf Course. The event will raise funds to support Bill Sturgis, a beloved friend and local standout who was recently diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).

 

Bill’s story is one rooted in strength, character, and community. A proud Smithson Valley High School graduate, Bill made his mark as a standout athlete, known for his dedication, sportsmanship, and drive to uplift those around him. He carried that same spirit forward to St. Edward’s University, where he continued to excel both on and off the court.

 

Today, Bill is much more than a talented athlete — he’s a devoted husband, loving father, caring brother, loyal son, and an incredible friend to so many. His positive energy, humility, and genuine care for others have left a lasting impression on everyone who knows him.
